Figuring out how to maximize fat intake for maximum fat loss can be a little tricky at times. After all, since fat has twice the amount of calories that carbs or protein have, you don’t want to overdo it here.
Even worse, there has been a recent push to eat more saturated fat despite a huge amount of research advising otherwise.
So here is how to optimize your fat intake to burn more fat:
1. Understand that not all saturated fats are created equal: In fact, the saturated fats that come from plants are very healthy. So make sure you minimize animal saturated fat (meat fat, butter, etc.) and maximize plant saturated fat like palm oil.
2. Go easy with fish oil: I’ve seen top fitness experts recommend intakes of 20-30 grams of fish oil. This is absurd and can cause more damage to your heart than good. So never go over the 3 gram mark and try to only have 1 gram of fish oil if your diet doesn’t already have omega 3 fats.
3. Be wary of heat treated oils: And they can be hidden in many things. You see, the main problem here is that heat treated oils can be extremely damaging to your health. So opt for cold pressed oils as much as possible. Even better, make olive oil a staple in your diet.
4. Balance out mono and polyunsaturated fats: You want to aim for a fifty percent split between both here. This will maximize your health and fat burning. And try to limit intake of omega 6 fats which can be found in things like canola oil.
5. Avoid hydrogenated fats at all costs: Do not buy into the claim that low levels of intake are safe. In fact, research has shown that no level of intake is safe. So stay away from partially hydrogenated fats no matter what.
Your diet has to include fats for healthy and for sustainable weight loss. So make sure you start optimizing your fat intake as soon as possible. You have to take action here or you will forget the information!
