The Healthiest Way to Lose Weight is Through Exercise
There have been many studies which have proven that exercise combined with a good weight loss diet will bring faster results than either one alone. Weight loss through exercise will help control weight by burning excess calories that would otherwise be stored as fat. When you reduce the calories you eat every day plus burn more calories through exercise, you can’t help but lose weight!
You can certainly lose weight by dieting alone, but let’s face it. It’s a lot harder and takes a lot longer before you’ll see the results you are after. By simply adding a brisk 30 minute walk to your diet, you can double the amount of weight you are losing each week.
Including exercise in your regimen does more than burn calories, in that it has several other benefits as well. For example, you’ll tend to have more energy, and of course, you’ll also be doing your heart a favor at the same time.
Ideally, a weight loss through exercise plan should always include anaerobic exercises as well as aerobic exercises, also known as cardio. Generally speaking, cardio is any exercise which results in an increased heart rate for a minimum of 20 minutes, and in order to get the most out of it, aerobic exercise should be done in the mornings. In so doing, your body will use stored fat rather than relying on recently consumed food.
The longer you do cardiovascular exercise for, the more you’ll benefit, and contrary to what you may believe, the length of your sessions is of more importance than the intensity. Bear in mind that the body does not start to use fat reserves until about 25 to 30 minutes into your exercise session. If you increase intensity you’ll simply cause your body to burn glycogen instead of fat.
This is probably great news if you dread the thought of sprinting around the track every morning. Instead, try walking at a brisk pace for 30 minutes. I can guarantee you that you’ll be able to walk a lot longer than you’ll be able to sprint!
Walking is one of the best forms of aerobic exercise for most people who want to lose weight from exercise. It requires no special equipment beyond comfortable clothing, you don’t have to be a member of any gym, and you don’t have to learn a new skill. You can do it in any kind of weather as long as you dress appropriately. And it is easier on your joints than other kinds of aerobic exercise.
Weight loss through exercise is the perfect partner for any weight loss diet, so go ahead and try it for yourself. After all, you have nothing to loose, apart from your weight of course.
